THE PROJECT

The project aims to enhance experience sharing and the acquisition of specific skills through exchanges and study visits outside the Basilicata region. The territories to be visited were chosen according to the following needs: on the one hand, to deepen the organic production knowledge from both technical and economic perspectives, and on the other hand, to inform and raise awareness among agricultural producers on the Biodistrict implementation process and its opportunities.

OBJECTIVES

The project consists of three modules, addressing the following objectives:

Module I:

  • in-depth analysis of the Biodistrict, focusing on the administration, the participation and the technical production processes
  • topics having a crucial impact both on Biodistrict participation and implementation capacities, as well as on agronomic practices
  • informing on the formal and informal Biodistrict concepts: administration on Biodistrict implementation, how to participate, farmers’ contribution to Biodistrict setting up, and the economic and social opportunities Biodistrict offers
  • knowledge of organic practices, networking and comparison with established and district-defining realities

Module II:

  • in-depth analysis of Cultural Parks applied to agricultural territories
  • knowledge dissemination and territory promotion in detail: from history to literature, from architecture to food and wine; hindering the growing marginality of inner areas
  • general skills in the practical application of an innovative process, related to rural economy multifunctionality and farm activities diversification

Module III

  • agri-environment as a macro thematic category
  • environmental challenges addressed by the CAP

ACTIVITIES
