Europe’s first supply chain in organic production originated in Montebello.
Pasta manufacturing plant Girolomoni, founded as Alce Nero in 1987, (silos-mill-pasta factory) monastery of the Girolamini order, former residence of Gino Girolomoni, now a farmhouse hosting a farming museum. Since 1996, the Cooperative has started the Girolomoni Edizioni Foundation, which spreads the philosophy of organic farming through the magazine Mediterraneo.
The President, Giovanni Battista Girolomoni, son of Gino Girolomoni the founder of Alce Nero, illustrated the activities the Cooperative carries out. The agronomist Francesco Torriani, head of the Cooperative’s technical sector and President of Con Marche Bio, made an intevention and dwelt on the future challenges awaiting the territories.
